Certified Esthetician + Massage Practitioner Michelle Secord runs “Merth Body and Beauty”, an Esthetics and Relaxation Massage Spa nestled in the tranquil community of Oliphant, Ontario, in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula: just a short scenic trip from downtown Wiarton or Sauble Beach Ontario, Canada.
Services include Manicures, Pedicures, moisturizing Paraffin Waxing, detoxifying Facials, temporary hair removal by Waxing, Eyelash and Eyebrow Tinting, and luxurious Relaxation Body Treatments such as Swedish Aroma Massage and Hot Stone Massage: Michelle also introduces her Thai Yoga Massage training in her treatments to incorporate rhythmic motion, gentle stretching, and calming breathing exercises whenever possible to create a unique experience.
Using ‘aroma’ is a holistic approach to health and has physiological, psychological, and spiritual healing properties. Aroma can be used in massage oils, baths, room fragrances, oil burners and much more. Michelle has taken this natural approach (‘Merth’ is a combo of ‘Mother Earth’ and a word for joy: ‘mirth’) and has been creating her own custom-made bodycare products for the past four years.
Michelle is a sensitive, joyful, and caring spirit that has been involved in the spa industry for close to a decade, making a difference in countless people’s lives in the process. Clients, who now include many wonderful neighbours that have made her arrival warm and welcoming, have reacted to Michelle’s services with words of kindness every spa practitioner wishes to hear: “I’ll be telling all of my friends, family and co-workers about you! “, “You have a natural touch and so much compassion for this line of work. “, “Can I take you home with me?”.
Her training is extensive and always ongoing to better serve those that trust their sense of well-being in her hands. Some of Michelle’s achievements include Alexandrian Institute: Esthetics & Cosmetology Honours Certificate (1998), Éminence Organic Skin Care: Masters Theory Skin Care Training Program Certificate (2007), Lotus Palm School: Thai Yoga Massage Intensive 1 & 2 Certificate (2007). Merth was also honoured to be acknowledged by Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound’s M.P.P. Bill Murdoch upon the debut of the region’s newest spa business.
